The Phoenix Suns made an offer to the Grizzlies Thursday involving their star forward Amare Stoudemire, whom they are actively shopping to anyone who will listen. The Grizzlies were not considered by many to be in serious contention for a deal or even have interest in Stoudemire. However, the Suns asked for basically the entire nucleus of the Grizzlies' team, namely Hakim Warrick, Rudy Gay and Mike Conley.

The Grizzlies got the break they needed when Amare Stoudemire was ejected from Tuesday's game late in the first half. Unfortunately, Stoudemire's Phoenix teammates used his dismissal as motivation and rallied to beat the Grizzlies 101-89.

nd quarter gave them a brief one-point lead before the teams entered the locker rooms tied at 44.
Amare Stoudemire carried the load inside for the Suns with the Grizzlies keying in on Shaquille O'Neal, but the Grizzlies defense forced the Suns into bad shot after bad shot and disrupted their rhythm. Steve Nash looked out-of-sync all night and displayed signs of aging, as did O'Neal.

nge includes dealing with Shaquille O'Neal in the low post, as well as the high-flying and athletic Amare Stoudemire (25.6 ppg) and physical Boris Diaw and Leandro Barbosa. While O'Neal's best days are obviously in the rear-view mirror, his sheer size will be a nightmare for any Grizzly who has the assignment of trying to stop him. I wouldn't be surprised to see the 'Hack-A-Shaq' strategy employed, especially since Gasol and Co. have a tendency to get into foul trouble anyway. Someone will have to keep Stoudemire under control. The Grizzlies can't afford to have him go off like the Kings' Kevin Martin did.
